Velvet – 12 STOREEZ

Velvet Care Guide

We love velvet for its festive feel, soft pile, and deep colours. A few care tips will help keep your velvet garments for years to come.

  • Don't wash velvet. Instead, opt for gentle dry cleaning with perchloroethylene. Request to remove or protect buttons and zips before cleaning.
  • Iron velvet garments on the reverse side or through a thin cloth at temperatures up to 110°C/230°F to prevent the fabric from fading. Make sure the velvet is dry and the steam function on your iron is turned off.
  • Store velvet garments on hangers in a spacious wardrobe to protect the fabric from creasing and fading.
  • To clean the garment from lint, use a lint roller, moving in the direction of the pile.
  • To avoid damaging the pile, try not to wear velvet garments under unlined outerwear. Be cautious with bags and accessories that could snag the fabric.
  • We recommend wearing velvet jackets and dresses as a second layer over thin undergarments: this will add to your comfort and prolong the garment's life.
